We we planning on going snowshoeing as a family on the 2nd of January. Megan and Ryan were going to go to friends house. Megan doesn't do well in the cold and she has more fun playing with friends. All was going well, wait for it, until Megan woke up at 1am and stayed awake until 4am. Guess who was awake with her. One clue: it wasn't daddy. Needless to say, I was too tired for snowshoeing. So Phil took Megan and Ryan to the sitters. Then He, and Anne and Katie went to the mountain and had a great time snowshoeing.
So what did Momma do? She slept till 11am. Ate breakfast without having to jump up a million times for more milk, cereal, napkins etc, etc. I then got a chance to think through, plan out and organize for school which was to start the next day. I got a chance to relax and spend time with the Lord (uninterrupted). I was disappointed at 4am when I knew I wouldn't be joining the rest of the family, but God knew the gift he was giving me, and I was blessed!
