The Creative Side of Christmas

Recently I found a website called All Free Sewing.  This is how it works:  really creative people come up with some wonderfully creative ideas and post them on the All Free Sewing website.  Then the magic elves sort all the ideas into categories and periodically send an e-mail with such and such category.  So I have been doing a lot more sewing because these instructions are either very detailed and offer lots of pictures, or they are web videos.  I used ideas for red riding hood capes and super hero capes for the girls and boys and this cute pillow case dress for my niece Sora Lee.  I will post pics of the kids in their capes, but they haven't stood still long enough to get good pictures.  So here is Sweet Sora's Dress.

The front.  I used some pretty lacy pillowcases that someone gave us as a wedding present.  We loved the pillowcases, but never got pretty bedding to go with them.  So after sitting in the closet for almost 14 years, one of them is now starting a new life as a toddler dress.

The Back.  No buttons or  zippers--just slip over the head and presto cute baby.
