"I'm Dreaming of a Wet Christmas. . . ."

. . .Sang no one.  Ever.  However, more often than not, that is what we get here in the Northwest.  Interestingly enough, this year we actually did get a white Christmas!  It started as we were driving to church for the Christmas Eve service.  It got slick quick and we were glad we were in the 4WD pickup and not the van.  The snow continued through early morning and we had a skiff of snow on the ground Christmas morning.  I kept saying: "I'll go take pictures in a minute. . ."  Well that minute never came, so no pictures of our very rare, White Christmas!  My Bad!

I did get a shot of the after presents chaos!  Let's take an inventory: Legos, Army men, tank, helicopter, silly putty, puzzles, American girl accessories, Nerf darts, and much toy packaging.

A few days after Christmas, we were invited to join Phil's brother and family in Seaside, Oregon for a few days.  We stayed in a lovely hotel, and had a wonderful suite with a full kitchen, two bathrooms and a Jacuzzi tub.
The first day we arrived, it was drizzling and we decided it was perfect weather for walking on the beach.  (You will only understand if you have spent time in Oregon.)

Look a family picture, I don't remember the last time we took one of those.

Two cousins and a long kelp rope.  What could be better!

As we got back inside the hotel, the water works started outside.  It rained sideways for the next three days.  Other than a few shopping trips, we did not leave the hotel.  Good thing we were prepared with toys, crafts, and the old stand-by: videos and microwave popcorn.  Also a good thing the hotel had a pool.

I love to see what James creates.  He has his own unique style and uses great color combinations.

Megan and Ryan trying out the jacuzzi tub!

The view from our window.  Not a great day for a walk on the beach.

It is, however, a great time for Christmas cookies, ginger ale in wine glasses and a movie!

But what ever the weather, Jesus came to earth to offer us the best gift of all.
(I thought that the light from the hotel across the river looks like the Christmas star)
Happy New Year!
