This is a picture of my sister at my wedding-14 years ago! Isn't she the sweetest little thing. She is 10 years old (In this picture. . .not now).
Now. . .she is 24 and still the sweetest little thing, but she is incredibly beautiful, intelligent, accomplished and (sniff, gulp) married!
Isn't she stunning!
This is what the kids looked like about 3 minutes after getting in the rental van. (notice the DC traffic in the rearview window?)
After those storms passes the weather was nice, for Virginia. It was hot and humid, but not a drop of rain for the outdoor ceremony. This is a picture of Grandpa John and Megan, they have a special connection. This is at the rehearsal dinner.
This is a goofy picture of Megan, but she was a delightful flower girl. I hope someone else took pictures during the wedding, because the person I gave my camera to, did not take pictures during the ceremony!!
Ryan was the ring bearer. Adorable!!! Auntie Emilie gave him chocolate right before the ceremony--luckily he did not get any on his duds!
This is Emilie and Anne. Anne is almost 10. For those of you keeping track, that is how old Emilie was in my wedding.
This is me and my hubby at my sister's wedding-14 years later. We don't look quite as young as we did then.
Our family has changed slightly since then.
I think this picture is so interesting. Humorous, because here is the wedding party waiting to be picked up and they are watching Doc McStuffins! We turned it on to occupy the kiddos, and it occupied the whole wedding party. And yet, Emilie is looking at her engagement ring. One can only imagine what is going through her head.
Emilie made the cake topper--so simple and so sweet.
And here is Emilie and her man. His name is Jeff. He and Em make a wonderful pair and it will be so fun to watch them create a life together.
I made it through the wedding only getting choked up. The father/daughter dance put us all in tears.
My children love to take pictures. When Ryan and Megan want to take pictures I hold the camera by the lens and let them snap away. I usually get a million pictures of legs of tables or peoples knees and elbows. So Ryan grabbed the camera during the reception and started clicking away. He rested it on the table and away he went. I did get a million odd pictures, but there are a few I was pretty impressed with. . .
This one is by far my favorite of all the pictures or the entire wedding I think!
The reception was so comfortable and relaxed. The whole thing went off without a hitch.
This one was taken at the end of the reception, so the light was not spectacular, but here we are. Brother and two sisters. We may be separated by age and distance, but we love each other fiercely!
I saw a picture like this on pintrest and here is my attempt to mimic it.
I loved the look of the bouquet in our cabin the next morning on the rustic kitchen table with the early morning light on it.
We had a lovely time in Virginia and saw some caves and a bit of the Shenandoah Mountains and Arlington cemetery and then flew home in another thunderstorm!
Congratulations Jeff and Emilie! We love you and Wish you all Blessings.
