Well, yesterday was definitely Windsday, and it has rolled over into Thwindsday as well. I went to Costco yesterday and the wind took down a tree in front of me. We limbs and branches come down all over the place--the kids found a 40 foot limb from a Doug Fir in the yard! We are going to have quite the burn pile this year.
And then I went out to turn on the light for the chickens. Who, I might add were more than irritated at the wind blowing their feathers every which way.
I saw this:
Now for some perspective. I am standing where the trampoline was. What you can't see is the two year old pear tree that it sailed over. I am glad that I didn't see it happen. So many worse things could have happened! That room that you can see is where Anne keeps her rabbits. It could have taken out the pear tree, the grape arbor on the right there and smashed into the rabbit room. We are thankful that it only tried to take out a very sturdy holly tree, bent an upright and tore the safety net.
