Tea Parties, Nomination for Mom of the year and other ramblings

I was nominated for Mom of the Year the other day.  If you have been nominated, then you know what I mean.  Ryan was standing up on the chair (see picture below) and looking just darling.  No I did not get the nomination for having adorable kids.  That is purely a God thing--I had nothing to do with it!  Anyway, As I was taking the picture I thought,"I wonder if he will flip that chair over backwards?" I decided that he was safe up there, that the chair was heavy enough to counter his weight.  Guess what. . . I was wrong.  I turned to put the camera down and CRASH! the chair went over on the tile floor.  Luckily The chair took the physical shock, but poor Ryan absorbed the emotional shock and has stayed away from that particular chair.

Sisters.  My sister and I are 14 years apart (she is going to graduate from college this spring).  So our relationship was a bit different from my girls.  Not to say that the love is stronger, just the dynamic is different.  I look at my kids on days when they are like Tasmanian devils, rolling, tussling, screaming and spitting and I wonder--1) will they survive till tomorrow, and 2) will they like each other ever again.  According to friends who had siblings close in age, and from friends who have kids close in age, the answer to both question is "yes".

Here is the proof.  For a few minutes at least.

Poetry Group.
Here is a group picture of our little poetry class (plus Carolyn, Ella wanted Momma in the picture)

Getting ready for Valentine's Day.  We invited the poetry class over to make Valentines.  They had a great time for about a half an hour.  Then it was time to play dress up. . .
