So we left off the last post with my sister packing up her belongings with my parents to put into storage while we went to Washington D.C.
Because of time and space this will be more pictures than words.
We brought the stroller for the two youngest, but poor Katie out grew her shoes (yes, they fit in the morning, but by afternoon, they were too tight). So she rode in the stroller and fell asleep. |
The kids loved the curious squirrels--until this one got bold and started toward them to see if they had any food! |
OK, this was not in D.C. but in Virginia. We loved the rule that the ADULT must be accompanied by a child! |
The Jefferson Memorial |
Katie--in the morning (see the shoes). She looks so cute and patriotic. |
Korean War memorial |
Lincoln Memorial--like the three guys in the back ground! |
Megan was thrilled by the planes taking off from Regan Airport |
Can't you just hear her. . .Whoooaaaaa! |
Let me tell you--this is probably the most tiring way to see Washington D.C. |
Washington Monument--We got to see a sight most people don't get to see--the bottom of the reflecting pool. |
World War II Memorial |
By the end of the day we were tired and ready to see Grandpa John at the train station. And Katie was glad for the new shoes that he brought her.
