The last of Christmas

Well, I finally got the Christmas Cards out this week, so now I am posting the Christmas pictures, and this weekend the last of Christmas in coming down from around the house.  Last call on Christmas movies. . .

A penguin arrived from the South Pole.  He was a little tired of all the notoriety that the North Pole gets this time of year, so he is attempting to market the South Pole for the same fame.  We will have to see how that goes.  But he sure is cute.

We made glitter glue snowflakes in art class.

We had no snow, but some pretty wintery looking mornings.

We baked and decorated cookies with a 10 year old, an 8 year old, a 5 year old, two 4 year olds, and a 18 month old.  Yep, checked my sanity at the door.

There were crazy amounts of sprinkles.  I am still finding them in deep dark crevices around the kitchen.

There were pretty decorations. . .

 An insane amount of frosting,

 Chocolate dipped pretzels (cigars),

Did I mention an insane amount of frosting?

This sweetie is my niece.  This is Christmas eve about to go to the Evening service.

This is what Uncle Aaron looks like when he doesn't get his way. . .

And here are some attempts at pictures with all the cousins all dressed up for Christmas. . . (I did my best)

There is only so much you can expect when there are two four year old boys involved.

Sweet Sora in Cousin Anne's earmuffs.

And since I had such good luck with pictures of all the cousins, I thought I would try one of my bunch.  They are all looking at the camera, and they all look reasonably happy.  I call that a win!

I thought our tree looked rather pretty this year.  This peaceful scene was just moments before this. .

 One, two, three. . .Go!

Oma made all the kids stockings over the past several years.  I think I posted all of them during last year's Christmas blog, but if not I will find the picture again and post it soon.

Do you want to build. . .?  Nope, not going there!  I made a pair for all the kiddos and my niece and nephew.  Aren't they cute?

Santa and Mrs. Clause dropped by and ate cookies and milk.

Remember those foil wrapped coins that used to be put in stockings?  Inflation, that's all I have to say!

Ryan gets a Hess truck each year from Oma and Grandpa John.  We just have to convince daddy that it really is for RYAN to play with.

The last gift opened was a package of oreos.  Why?  Because we gave the kiddos a puppy named Oreo.  She is coming home in a week or so.  We can't wait.  Meanwhile we are reading books on puppy training.

Megan had asked for one thing this Christmas.  Matching Jammies for her and her doll.  She was thrilled.  Thanks Oma and Grandpa John.

Later on Christmas day we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the Smorgasbord.  Anne and Katie gave a concert.

Phil and Ryan read the Christmas story from Luke.

Sora was just plain adorable as usual.

And here again is the Gaskill tradition.  It started with Bob and the boys getting little penny racers that they would race through the dining room.  Now it has extended to include the grandsons as well.  And general chaos ensues.  I mean normal life resumes.
