Every once in a while we get a larger egg than the others. A double yolker. Well, this one was really big! (It was still a double yolker.) But it was so big it didn't fit in the carton -- at all!
So we had to give it it's own container.
The kids took out the shape blocks and got really creative. I took some pictures of the more intricate ones and now I can't find them! My computer ate them.
Two weeks after Anne turned 11, Ryan and Katie had a birthday. Yes, the same day. Ryan turned 5.
And Katie turned 9.
I won't tell you that to make Katie's boot, I laid wax paper over the cake and laid Katie's cowgirl boot over it and traced it.
I don't know what they are waiting for. . .blow out the candles already!
Ryan has entered the world of matchbox cars. . .that is what he opened first and didn't feel the need to open the rest of the presents after.
The flowers from the garden are still going strong.
The kids made a "nest" in the living room. Then they slept in it that night.
And speaking of the garden, it was an early harvest this year. The long, hot, dry summer made things ripen earlier, so on Labor Day we went out and harvested the garden.
We dug potatoes.
The brussel sprouts are coming along nicely, much to my family's disappointment!
The corn got blown over by a windstorm.
But the sunflowers came through it fine.
The pumpkins took more than their fair share of the garden this year.
When the corn blew down we did find some hidden gems. . .
And a panther. . .
I love big tall sunflowers. (So do my chickens)
Black cat, orange pumpkin. . .doesn't this say fall!
This is a wheelbarrow full of potatoes and leeks. Soup anyone?
Boxes being filled with the harvest.
Piles of pumpkins!
Most of the corn was lost this year, but they did find a few ears that could be salvaged.
A garage full of produce, and school starting the next day. . .We will be busy!
